The Workers’ Party sends May Day greetings to all working people this International Workers’ Day.

The capitalist system continues to prove itself unable and unwilling to balance the interests of the great mass of society; the working class, with the wishes of an affluent few; the capitalist class. It is the working class that keeps the world turning, but in spite of this, it is we who are burdened with the failures of the system. Failures in housing, healthcare and the workplace are pushed on to us, all while the capitalist class make billions in profits that they never toiled to earn.

It is long overdue that we claim what we are entitled to. Today, we reaffirm our commitment to dismantling the capitalist system and building a world free from economic exploitation where working people can thrive. We stand shoulder-to-shoulder with socialist and communist parties worldwide in demanding dignity and respect for our class.

We also reaffirm our unwavering international solidarity with all those resisting oppression, particularly the brave people of Cuba, who continue to build socialism in the face of relentless US aggression, and the resilient people of Palestine, enduring decades of brutal occupation and an onslaught of barbarism over the past two years.

Let this May Day act as a call to action, as a renewed commitment to international socialist solidarity, and a warning to the forces that seek to divide us.
