David Gardiner
Palmerstown-Fonthill
David Gardiner is the Workers’ Party representative for the Palmerstown-Fonthill LEA and a firefighter and paramedic with Dublin Fire Brigade.
Involved in socialist politics since the late 1980s, throughout the years David has campaigned on many different issues including public housing, water charges, repealing the eighth amendment, marriage equality, bin charges, and smoky coal amongst others.
Originally from Drimnagh and beginning his activism there, David moved to Palmerstown in 1996, joining the party’s Lucan branch. As well as being an activist with the party, David was also previously a shop steward in the fire brigade.
If elected to South Dublin County Council, David pledges to work on behalf of communities by prioritising issues such as housing and bin charges in the area.
