Garrett Greene, Workers’ Party representative for Cabra-Glasnevin, has welcomed the opening of the Four Masters Park to the public.

Greene said: “I’m delighted to see that the Four Masters Park has finally been opened to the public. Although it is long overdue, local residents will now be able to make use of one of the few green spaces in the area.”

“This is something that residents have been calling for for some time. A couple of years back, the Workers’ Party collected a petition of 200 signatures calling on the relevant authorities to open the park to the public. We have not been alone in our efforts, as councillors, residents associations and individuals have also raised the issue at one time or another. Thankfully, the work put in has finally come good.”

“The Workers’ Party supports the creation of green spaces in areas of high density. At a time when much of our public space is being privatised, we hope to see more green spaces opened to the public.”
