The 2025 Ard Fheis of the Workers’ Party, which took place in Dublin recently, received a number of international comradely greetings, including from the following parties, organisations and representatives:
• Bernardo Guanche Hernández, Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Ireland
• Communist Party of the Russian Federation
• Communist Party of Ukraine
• Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine
• German Communist Party
• Italian Communist Party
• World Anti-imperialist Platform
We thank each for their messages of solidarity, which can be read in full below.
Bernardo Guanche Hernández, Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Ireland
Dear comrades:
Aware of the celebration of your Annual Conference, on behalf of the Cuban people, I would like to express you our gratitude for your unwavering solidarity with the struggle against the economic, commercial, and financial blockade that the United States maintained and has reinforced in recent years.
In this regard, I draw your attention on October 28 and 29, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) will consider for the thirty-third time the draft resolution entitled “Necessity of ending the economic, commercial, and financial embargo imposed by the United States of America against Cuba.” More than three decades after the first one resolution, the United States government persists in ignoring the virtually unanimous demand of the international community to unconditionally end its unilateral and criminal policy against Cuba.
The United States government has continued to strengthen its extremely aggressive policy toward Cuba. For more than 60 years, the Cuban people have been victims of this unjust policy, which violates international law, flagrantly, massively, and systematically impedes the full realization of human rights and constitutes the main obstacle to the country’s economic and social development. The extraterritorial nature of the blockade violates the sovereignty of States and affects citizens and companies in third countries.
This situation is aggravated by Cuba’s unjustified continued inclusion on the US State Department’s arbitrary, unilateral, and illegitimate list of alleged sponsors of terrorism. This is a politically motivated and dishonest measure, with an undeniable socioeconomic impact.
In the current situation, the international community’s traditional call for an end to the economic, commercial, and financial embargo imposed by the United States government against Cuba has been essential. Last year, 187 United Nations Member States voted to eliminate this unjust policy.
With the solidarity of the world, including that of the Workers’ Party, the Cuban Revolution will triumph.
Wishing you a fruitful conference and greetings to all comrades,
Bernardo Guanche Hernández
Ambassador
Communist Party of the Russian Federation

Communist Party of Ukraine
To the Comrades of the Workers’ Party of Ireland,
On behalf of the Communist Party of Ukraine, we extend our warmest revolutionary greetings and firm solidarity to the delegates of your Annual Conference (Ard Fheis) taking place on 4 October 2025.
At this critical time of growing global inequality, imperialist aggression, and the intensifying exploitation of working people, the unity and determination of the international communist and workers’ movement are more necessary than ever. We salute the steadfast commitment of the Workers’ Party of Ireland to the cause of socialism, peace, and the emancipation of the working class.
Your struggle for the rights of Irish workers, against imperialism, and for a united, democratic, and socialist Ireland continues to inspire comrades across the world. We are confident that your deliberations will strengthen the party and contribute to advancing the class struggle in Ireland and beyond.
Please accept our heartfelt wishes for a successful and fruitful Conference. We look forward to continuing our cooperation and solidarity in the international fight for socialism.
With fraternal greetings and solidarity,
The Communist Party of Ukraine
Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine
Dear Comrades in the Workers Party of Ireland,
Revolutionary greetings from the land of Palestine,
On behalf of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine and its Department of External Relations, we extend to you our warmest greetings on the occasion of your Annual Conference (Ard Fheis), which we hope will be crowned with success in achieving your future plans and programs.
Dear Comrades,
Your conference is being held at a critical global juncture, as imperialism, led by the United States of America, wages its battle for survival in order to tighten its grip over the international political order—a system that has
already failed to meet even the minimum aspirations of the peoples of the world.
From the gateway of Palestine and the region, the United States wages its wars. For the past two years, our Palestinian people have been subjected to a genocidal war and comprehensive aggression targeting their very existence and national rights, amid international silence and the complicity
of imperialist powers with the Zionist war machine. At this historic and painful moment, the convening of your conference acquires special importance, as it reaffirms your Party’s unwavering commitment to the path
of workers’ and popular struggle, and to the internationalist principles of solidarity with oppressed peoples.
Your continuous support for the Palestinian cause and for the rights of our people to freedom and independence, and your firm rejection of imperialism, Zionism, and exploitation, have been a source of strength and encouragement for our struggle. We regard your public positions and your practical solidarity as living testimony to the unity of destiny shared by struggling peoples against the common enemy: capitalism and imperialism with its Zionist and colonial tools.
We are confident that the deliberations of your conference will contribute to strengthening your Party’s pioneering role, to renewing determination in the struggle for workers’ rights, and to broadening the horizons of solidarity with the just struggle of the Palestinian people.
We wish your conference full success in its work and resolutions, and we reaffirm our deep pride in your militant friendship and in the ongoing cooperation and solidarity between our two Parties and peoples on the path to freedom.
With warmest comradely and militant greetings,
Department of External Relations

German Communist Party
To the delegates of the Ard Fheis of the Workers Party of Ireland
Dear comrades!
On behalf of the Central Committee and the members of the German Communist Party, I greet you warmly.
The struggles of our parties have much in common. We both fight against NATO’s aggression.
Just like us, you are currently fighting against increased armament, against NATO’s aggression against Russia, which is also directed against the People’s Republic of China. Together we signed an appeal against this war policy of NATO. We are together in the solidarity with the Palestinian people in their fight against colonialism and apartheid, for a free state of Palestine. Just like in the FRG, in your country the costs of this war policy are being passed on to the working people. At the same time, political and social rights are being dismantled and the people are being covered with aggressive war propaganda. This policy, which is a reaction to the crisis of imperialism, leads to ever larger sections of the working class becoming poor, marginalised, without any perspective. This situation makes it increasingly clear that capitalism cannot offer a solution, a socialist path is necessary.
We wish your Congress fruitful discussions and good decisions and your party a successful implementation of these decisions.
For peace and socialism!
With solidarity greetings
Renate Koppe
International Secretary
Italian Communist Party
Dear comrades of Workers’ Party of Ireland
We hope that your conference will be politically fruitful and of impetus for your political work.
With this communication we would like to point out that the relationship with you and your party is important to us: these bilateral relations have had a strong increase also thanks to the opportunity for meeting offered by the experience of the conference on the Years of Lead in Italy that the young people of your party, with the support of the party itself,
organised at Trinity College this April.
This phase that we are facing is extremely complex and difficult for the communist and leftwing forces on the European continent; we are aware that a reconstruction of the relationships is needed not only between our political forces but also between the communist forces, indispensable for their peculiarity of analysis and vision, and those political forces that fight for a Europe of peace and against rearmament.
We would like to point out that we welcome any proposal in this sense, which at a European level leads to a collegial mobilization of the broader political panorama present, respecting the internal political conditions and the complex dynamics to be taken into account. Undeniably, the war scenarios that are ever closer to us and ever more extensive impose this sense of responsibility on us; nearly two years of tragic bombing in Gaza have left many people with grief and resignation, but at the same time, others in the West have mobilized to stop the genocide. In our country, a general strike by leftists trade unions for the humanitarian situation in Gaza paralyzed 80 Italian cities on Monday, September 22nd. As communists, we seek to join the struggles and movements that, despite the right-wing government we find ourselves in, have begun to grow again.
With these considerations, we hope that you too, comrades of Ireland, can draw the strength needed to return to greatness and popularity, effective in national politics and decisive in European and international relations.
We wish you a successful annual conference.
Fraternal communist greetings.

Warm Congratulations on the Convening of the Ard Fheis
We warmly congratulate the Workers’ Party of Ireland on the convening of your annual conference, the Ard Fheis. We firmly believe that this important gathering strengthens the political power of the working class and further clarifies the direction of struggle against the attacks of capital and imperialism.
As Comrade Tara Brady stated at the Amsterdam–The Hague International Anti-Imperialist Conference last June, the Irish government’s moves to weaken and even abolish the country’s long-held neutrality demonstrate that Ireland is being subordinated to NATO within the context of World War 3 situation. At such a time, the struggle of the Workers’ Party of Ireland to defend neutrality and to uphold the banner of anti-imperialism serves as a profound inspiration to anti-imperialists and communists across the world.
The imperialist warmongers are making frantic maneuvers to launch World War 3 in earnest. In the latter half of 2024, they sought to ignite an East Asian and Western Pacific war through a war in the ‘Republic of Korea (ROK, South Korea)’. Drone attacks on Pyongyang and other localized provocations were staged between September and November, followed by a pro-US puppet coup attempt in December—all intended to spark a war in the ‘ROK.’ Yet this was thwarted and crushed by the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea’s war-deterrent capacity, its policy of “strategic patience,” and by the December Uprising of the people in the ‘ROK.’ The imperialists’ key tactic, a war in the ‘ROK,’ collapsed at the hands of the Korean nation.
In 2025, localized wars broke out in multiple flashpoints around the globe: the India-Pakistan clash in April, Israel’s attack on Iran and the US strike on Iranian nuclear facilities in June, and the Thailand-Cambodia conflict in July. Meanwhile, NATO decided in June to raise member states’ military spending to 5% of GDP, advancing the “militarisation of Europe,” and in July the US European Command openly threatened to occupy Kaliningrad, further deepening hostile schemes against Russia. The imperialists will never abandon their pursuit of World War 3, for their strategic objective lies in fabricating a “New Cold War” structure. Presently, their “U-shaped” encirclement runs from Northern Europe through the Carpathian Mountains to South Asia, Southeast Asia, and Northeast Asia, ending with the ‘ROK’ and militarist Japan. The imperialists are steadily shifting the storm of war eastward, provoking conflict after conflict.
At the same time, the Trump forces, faced with $37 trillion in US national debt and $2 trillion in annual interest payments, are pursuing imperialist plunder policies worldwide. They have made outrageous remarks about “owning” Greenland, Panama, and even the US military base at Pyeongtaek in the ‘ROK.’ Having seen India and Brazil draw closer to Russia and China, they imposed 50% tariff bombs, while pressuring ‘ROK’ into $700 billion of investments in the US to strip its manufacturing base. They also pursue oil hegemony, slandering Venezuela as a “narco-criminal state,” colluding with far-right fascists there to attack the people’s government, and openly backing Israel’s Zionist aggression and massacres in Gaza.
The celebration of the 80th Anniversary of China’s Victory Day on September 3, was a momentous event that once again demonstrated the power of the anti-imperialist camp. The military parade showcased advanced hypersonic, stealth, and AI-driven weapons. Also politically and economically, the anti-imperialist forces are overwhelming the imperialist camp. In July 2025, President Vladimir Putin announced that the combined GDP of the BRICS countries had reached $77 trillion, surpassing the G7’s $57 trillion. In July 2024, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi skipped the NATO Summit in Washington and instead visited Russia, while traditional US allies Saudi Arabia and Türkiye formally joined BRICS. India and Brazil, under Trump’s tariff assaults, have drawn still closer to BRICS. The imperialist camp is being weakened and fragmented, while the military, political, ideological, and strategic cooperation of the anti-imperialist front is growing ever stronger.
NATO, acting as the war headquarters of World War 3, is dragging its “partner countries” into its conflicts and working to reinforce the imperialist bloc. Neutral states such as Ireland are among its priorities. In February 2024, the Chair of NATO’s Military Committee visited Ireland, stressing 25 years of NATO–Ireland “cooperation” and even hinting at expanding Ireland’s access to NATO classified information exchange through the PIAG (Partnership Interoperability Advocacy Group), as well as participation in NATO military exercises. This signals the dangerous situation in which Ireland could be drawn into NATO’s wars of aggression. In June 2025, Ireland joined the EU’s joint defence procurement initiative and expanded defence support to Ukraine, effectively nullifying its neutrality.
Practice is the criterion of truth. The Workers’ Party of Ireland is firmly resisting these pro-imperialist moves by emphasising Ireland’s traditional policy of ‘neutrality’ and resolutely carrying forward the just anti-imperialist struggle.
The World Anti-Imperialist Platform, founded in February 2022 by revolutionary parties united in purpose following the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, is the true internationalist communist and anti-imperialist organization. The Workers’ Party of Ireland has actively joined and worked within the Platform, upholding the revolutionary and internationalist principles of Marxism-Leninism.
We are confident that the Workers’ Party of Ireland will continue to play its vanguard role as part of the international communist movement, together with the World Anti-Imperialist Platform, under the banner of “Workers of the World, Unite!” until the day of revolutionary victory.
