The Workers’ Party has been engaged in various activities on the international front in recent months, engaging with like-minded parties and organisations in order to build a better world. Here’s a round-up of what we’ve got up to in the first half of the year.

2nd International Anti-Fascist Forum

Productive meetings were held with representatives from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (KPRF) and Belarusian comrades, strengthening solidarity between European socialist movements. Discussions centred on coordinated responses to contemporary political challenges and shared strategic aims. The WPI delegation signed a document as part of the 2nd International Anti-Fascist Forum, expressing our commitment to seeing neo-Nazism and Banderism eliminated in Europe and worldwide.

Amsterdam Conference & The Hague

In June, a Workers’ Party delegation participated in a conference in Amsterdam, organised by the World Anti-Imperialist Platform, alongside comrades from the People’s Democracy Party of Korea and Dutch communist organisations. There was notable engagement with Joti Brar of the Communist Party of Great Britain (Marxist-Leninist), fostering important theoretical and practical exchanges. The delegation also participated in anti-NATO protests in The Hague, demonstrating international solidarity against imperialist military expansion.

Dublin Diplomatic Meetings

Meetings were held in Dublin with a number of other communist organisations, including Pôle de Renaissance Communist en France (PRCF) representatives, a delegation of the Italian Communist Party (PCI), Polish communist leadership and German Communist Organization (KO) officials

These meetings reinforced the Workers’ Party’s role as a key coordination point for European communist and workers’ parties. The PCI International Secretary delivered a talk at Trinity College Dublin on Operation Gladio and counter-revolution in Italy from the 1970s-1990s, providing valuable historical insights into imperialist operations in Europe.

Durham Miners’ Gala

Workers’ Party members attended the 2025 Durham Miners’ Gala in England. The gala, which first took place in 1871, is a festival and celebration of the working class and the labour movement. It consists of marching, music, speeches and more. Each year, it attracts attendees from across Britain and beyond.

International Solidarity

The Workers’ Party of Ireland continues to serve as an active bridge between global socialist movements, facilitating dialogue and cooperation across national boundaries whilst maintaining our commitment to international working-class solidarity. The party supports NATO’s defeat in Ukraine against Russia and maintains friendly relations with the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP), supporting their national liberation struggle, alongside that of the wider Palestinian resistance, in the ongoing fight for Palestinian self-determination.
