Dick Roche

Dick Roche was the Workers’ Party representative in Waterford.

Dick worked at Assisi House Seniors Social Centre and was a former independent City Councillor for the old Waterford City North ward.

Dick had a long record of community and trade union activism. He was the former head shop steward at Waterford Stanley and former President of the Waterford Council of Trade Unions.

He was a leading campaigner against service charges and water privatisation and was chairman of the South East radiotherapy campaign.

Dick’s priorities for Waterford included tackling the jobs and housing crises, and ensuring that all citizens have access to quality, public education and health services.
