The Workers’ Party has condemned recent anti-social behaviour in the Lower Falls, which has left a local playground in ruins.

A spokesperson said:”It is understood that bins were stolen from residents and set alight in Dunville Park playground.”

“This destructive behaviour serves no purpose other than taking a facility away from the local community, particularly children. This is mindless vandalism.”

“The Workers’ Party has written to the Belfast City Council requesting that the damage is repaired urgently. We will continue to follow this up in the coming days and keep residents informed. “”Following an incredibly difficult year, it is incredibly important that we take pride in our community and respect each other.”

“We ask those involved to desist from these anti-social activities, and ask parents and/or guardians to ensure that their children aren’t involved in such destructive behaviour.”
