The Workers’ Party condemns the shooting of an off-duty police officer in Omagh last night.

The detective was shot after he had finished coaching a children’s football team. His own son, as well as other children, witnessed the attack.

There can be no tolerance for such attacks in our communities and those responsible must be brought to justice.
